Common questions
Hunting calendar questions
Twelve months, each on two pages. The top page charts the whole month: one column per day, daylight, and legal shooting light as a stripe, with the moon phases and the major solunar periods. The bottom page is the grid: each day's legal shooting hours, sunrise and sunset, the major periods, a solunar rating, moon phases and US federal holidays. The cover shows legal light across the year, and the back names the rule and its source.
From your state wildlife agency's own published rule for the species you pick, the same rules our free Shooting Hours tool cites, each one read on the agency's page. For ducks, where we have no state rule on file, the calendar uses the federal framework for the general duck season and says so, because your state may set stricter hours.
No. Seasons are set each year, and most 2027 seasons are not published yet. The calendar prints legal shooting light on every day of the year and says plainly that a day on it is not a day any season is open. Refuges, special hunts and some areas set their own hours. Check your regulations before you hunt.
Because we will not print a legal time we have not confirmed. A few states and species have no rule we could confirm on the agency's own page (Arizona, Georgia spring turkey), and Alaska sets no statewide big-game hours at all.
A long-standing hunting and angling tradition that rates each day by the moon's phase, with the major periods when the moon is overhead or underfoot. It is a tradition, not a forecast, and we print it as one.
Yes, for any month. Your photo replaces that month's chart page, cropped to the page's shape. We tell you if a photo is too small to print sharply. Use only photos you took or have the right to print.
Each calendar is printed to order, which takes about five business days, then ships to you within the US. Shipping is included in the $39. For Christmas delivery, order by December 8.
Every calendar is made for one place and one person, so we can't take returns. If yours arrives damaged, misprinted or not at all, email us within 30 days and we'll reprint it free.
